Clos des Goisses - Champagne Philipponnat

Clos des Goisses

A historic clos in the region

At 5.83 hectares, Clos des Goisses is one of the oldest walled vineyards in the region. Located in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it occupies the steepest slope in Mareuil-sur-Ay and is south-facing. Clos des Goisses is the first terroir of the House and of all Champagne to have been harvested and vinified using a parcel-specific approach. Owned by the House for almost a century, it is the cornerstone of its relentless pursuit of excellence and perfection.

Clos des Goisses

Quo non ascendet? (‘What heights will it not scale?’) Like the Grands Vins of other regions, Clos des Goisses has been produced every year since 1988. Its sequence of vintages, which vary in character, deserve to be preserved. It always undergoes a strict selection process, the volume produced rarely exceeding half of the vineyard’s theoretical potential.

Quite simply the most potent of all Champagne wines while retaining the mineral freshness of its unrivalled pure chalk hillside, Clos des Goisses is on a par with the best Burgundy reds for pairing with game, truffles, morel mushrooms and washed-rind cheeses.

Clos des Goisses
Juste Rosé

Even rarer still, Clos des Goisses Just Rosé takes its name from the subtle yet distinct nuance it acquires after ten years of ageing, conferred by the blend of saignée rosé rather than red Champagne.

This light colour is the proof of long, favourable ageing. In the mouth, the delectable structure of Clos des Goisses Juste Rosé bursts with freshness and red fruit.
