In the Heart of the Champagne region

The 10th Anniversary Night - Champagne Philipponnat

Champagne is getting ready to celebrate a symbolic date: the 10th anniversary of the UNESCO listing of the Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars as a World Heritage Site. This anniversary powerfully highlights the international recognition of a living cultural landscape where historical heritage, winegrowing excellence and beautiful surroundings come together. We are proud that the Clos des Goisses, as well as our plots on the historic hillsides, are part of it.

On 4 July, the village of Champillon will host the anniversary celebrations with “The 10th Anniversary Night”, a celebratory and participatory event devised by the Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars Initiative headed by its President Séverine Couvreur. The programme includes an gigantic picnic in the vineyards, live entertainment, a concert and the thrill of a spectacular sound and light show designed by the artist Ismaël Taggaë, choreographer and world breakdance champion and Champagne native.

On this occasion, participants will be able to taste Champagnes from the selected houses in a dedicated bar, designed as a space for mingling and celebrating. Philipponnat will feature prominently, with a special focus on the Clos des Goisses. Acquired in 1935 by Pierre Philipponnat, our vineyard in Mareuil-sur-Ay is one of the most iconic symbols of the Champagne region’s heritage. With a surface area of 5.83 hectares divided into 14 plots, it boasts some of the steepest slopes in the region – up to 45° – and a south‑facing exposure that enables the grapes to reach optimum ripeness. The Clos des Goisses vineyard embodies the uniqueness of Champagne Philipponnat. It’s not just a terroir: it’s a pure expression of the Champagne region, and of the House’s know‑how and philosophy. Convinced of the exceptional potential of these terroirs, Pierre Philipponnat decided to create the very first mono‑cru in the Champagne region, using grapes from this very special vineyard. Today, this legendary cuvée is acclaimed by wine‑lovers for its amazing balance between mineral tension and great ripeness. It’s a wine that impresses with its depth and remarkable length on the palate.

The Clos des Goisses vineyard is fully committed to the cause of preserving, passing on and raising the international profile of this World Heritage site. With the event on 4 July 2025 and the spotlight on the Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars, the entire Champagne region is celebrating its vitality. We invite you to come and celebrate this decade of worldwide recognition and to show your support for the bubbles, the stories and the dreams of Champagne.
